Things aren’t going so well at Guantanamo. My story.

TPMTV sat down with TPM reporter Ryan J. Reilly who has been closely following the allegations of “voter fraud” and the wave of new voter ID laws in states across the country.

I’ve got a younger person in the office, he’s in his 20s, so he was kind of coordinating the college voters, so that was kind of his job. I’ve got a minority, well I hate to use the word minority, but I’ve got a person of color within the office who was the minority outreach, if you will, if you use that term. She was the person who went to some NAACP meetings.
NRA Chief: Obama's not cracking down on guns is part of an elaborate plot to crack down on guns.

motherjones:

Says NRA honcho Wayne Lapierre (who took the job from Charlton Heston):

“The Obama administration saw those historic battles and hatched a political conspiracy to deceive Americans and hide its true agenda to dismantle the Second Amendment and our freedom. By delaying its anti-gun legislative agenda, it’s tried to dupe gun owners into believing our fundamental freedom is safe.”

(h/t Ryan Reilly)

Another reader points out that Lapierre’s been banging the Obama-secret-plan-to-steal-guns-by-not-stealin-guns drum for at least a month and a half now. Here’s a video from Media Matters showing the NRA head brandishing his tin-foil hat back in September.

The $16 muffin myth, 38 days old, had a short but eventful life. Conceived by mistake due to a misreading of incomplete expenditure information from an August 2009 conference at the Capital Hilton in D.C., the $16 muffin was born in a Justice Department Inspector General report on September 20, 2011.
I cannot help but note that at the same time that some members of Congress understandably criticize the Fast and Furious operation, they vehemently refuse to consider whether ATF has the resources and legal tools it needs to do its job — tools that would be entirely consistent with the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.
